What should I take?

Question: from Ali

Hi Warren,  Im very excited to start the xtend life supplements. But how much is too much? I want to take the your xtend multi for women, your coral calcium, your omega 3 (which one should I take, I dont understand the difference between the two kinds?), and the neurological blend...is this too much for me? I'm 32, and want to keep my body young.

Answer: from Warren

This is what I would suggest.

1. Take the full daily dose of Total Balance of 6 tablets a day.  Alternate each month between the Women’s Plus and the Unisex versions.  If you had been in your 40’s I would have suggested just using the Women’s Plus.
2. Take two soft gels a day of our Omega 3.
3. I would suggest that you take either 3 or 6 tablets of the Neuro-Natural General, depending upon your budget and then alternate it each month with Neuro-Natural Memory.  This will ensure that your nervous system and brain gets the biggest possible variety of nutrients.
4. After you use up the calcium/phytonutrient supplement I would suggest that you save your money and discontinue it unless you have any current signs of osteoporosis.  The Total Balance will help reduce any leaching of calcium from the bones and if you are having a reasonable diet with plenty of vegetables you shouldn’t need a calcium supplement.
5. Assuming that you are on the full dose of Total Balance and/or Neuro-Natural take a ‘break’ every six months.  If on a half dose the break can be once a year. By doing this your body will not become too accustomed to the nutrients and the products will retain maximum efficacy.

Good luck Ali…its good to see a younger person being conscious of their health.  It will pay you serious dividends as you get older.

Warren..

Just reading your response to this question. When you say to take a break, how long of a break should be taken?

Thank you.

Oops...thanks for pointing that out Tess. The break should be for two weeks.

Warren,
In your response, you indicate that she should switch between Total Balance Unisex and Total Balance for Women. As I'm just getting my wife on these, I appreciate that infomation for she is 33. However I am 32 (almost 33) and I have been taking Total Balance for Men. Should I also be alternating?

Hi Tim...there is no real definitive answer to this. Both the female and male versions of Total Balance have different natural nutrients in them which help balance or stimulate the body’s production of hormones. Some men and some women may need these nutrients in their early 30’s whereas others may not.

If your wife has no PMS issues then alternating between Women’s Plus and Unisex is probably a good idea. If she does have PMS issues stay exclusively with the Women’s Plus. In your case if you feel that you are still well loaded with testosterone then you could well alternate also. All of the three versions contain similar amounts of active ingredients.

The difference between the Unisex version and the Men’s and Women’s versions is that we have removed anything that may influence hormonal production such as isoflavones, and the herbal extracts such as black cohosh in the Women’s Plus and chrysin, and saw palmetto etc in Men’s Plus.

We make up the difference in the Unisex by adding additional other nutrients, in particular a high active Tumeric.

So, in summary, it is not crucial Tim, either for you or your wife. If either of you don’t really need the extra special nutrients in Women’s or Men’s Plus because of your younger age, there is still no negative in you having them.

After reading LOTS of information on your website, I would welcome starting to take Total Balance, BUT - 6 tablets a dat - I know myself well enough to predict I will never stick to a regimin that requires taking that many pills daily. Do you have any plans on trying to concentrate the ingredients of your Total Balance product into some "mini-capsule" form (afraid I'm hooked on the "one per day" supplement doctrine. Beleive me, I am not trying to get this apparently excellent product at a lesser price - I just want to take fewer capsules each day. Thanks.

Hi Rick. This is an interesting point which I am sure other readers would be interested in. So, I have raised it as a new question and will post it on the blog. Thanks

Hi Warren,
So I'm 43yr female, starting to age, not enjoying it, have bunions and am noting that I am forgetting things more readily. I currently take Blackmores Joint Formula and Puraz Collagen tablets and am now going to give your skincare range a try. But noted that you also do supplements, what would you suggest I be on out of your extensive product range?
Thanks

Hi Liz,

That is a simple one. If you want to do everything you can to slow down the effects of aging you should try to take our Total Balance Women's Premium plus our Omega 3 DHA FIsh oil. Both of these products are unique...even the Omega 3. A lot of info about them are on the website.

You would not need to take the Collagen tablets or probably the Blackmores product either if you were using what I suggest.

The reason why it will help with your aging is that the Total Balance addresses all the major causes of aging, including glycation, methylation and free radicals. When you combine it with our Omega 3 you also address inflammation. By helping your body deal with these four issues you will notice a definite change at the rate you age and after a month or two the way you feel.
