Allergic to Supplements containing Sulfur?
Question: from Teresita
Do you have a product such as your Arthrit-Eze that does not contain sulphur? I can't handle sulfur and when I saw it included as one of your ingredients, my heart sank. I was ready to purchase it.

I understand your concern. However, generally when people who say they are allergic to sulphur it is because they have experienced an adverse effect from a sulfa-containing antibiotic, or similar medicine. Has this been your experience?
Experiences of sulfur allergies commonly cause confusion, as many people wrongly assume that they will be allergic to multiple sulfur-containing medicines, sulfite preservatives, or sulfates in supplements. This is not the case.
It is important to know that sulfur is a building block of life, and that allergic reactions to sulfonamide antibiotics, for example, do not increase the likelihood that you will also be allergic to sulfur powder, sulfite preservatives, non-antibiotic sulfonamide medicines, and especially natural sulfurate derivatives such as MSM present in Arthrit-Eze.
There is no relation at all between sulfur and sulphonamides, the name is related only to their structure? All sulfur and derivatives are usually fine for you and do not cause reactions.
Sulfites are used as preservatives in foods as well as medications. If you eat these foods and are fine, then you are of course fine with sulfates in our formulas.
Sulfates are actually natural salts.
Are you able to eat eggs? If you are able to do so, then you will have no problem with Arthrit-Eze or any of our other formulas. If on the other hand you cannot eat eggs then your best alternative would be our GLM-Omega 3 Plus.

I would think that it is more likely to be something else that they are putting in the salads. The problem with fast food restaurants is that you really don't know what they are putting in the food.
They put additives to enhance the taste and it may be one of those items that are causing the problem. On the other hand it may be even some of the food items. For example, some people develop a severe allergy to Bell Peppers.
Maybe it is in the dressings. Try using only olive oil as a dressing and see if that helps.
Best of all try to make up your own salads if possible. I know that it is a hassle but it is worth the effort.
